One of the most promising pianists of his generation, Alexandre Kantorow –a “transcendent talent” (Bachtrack) and “reincarnation of Liszt” (Fanfare Magazine)— is coming to Japan this autumn.

Back in 2019 at age 22, Alexandre created a great sensation becoming the first French pianist to win the Tchaikovsky Competition’s First Prize, as well as the Grand Prix, awarded only three times before in the competition’s history.
The dazzling young pianist has since broadened his artistic horizons, especially making his successful debut with Berlin Philharmonic as well as performing at the Carnegie Hall and at the BBC Proms festival for the first time.
Recently, Alexandre became the first French artist and youngest recipient of the Gilmore Artist Award 2024, considered one of the most prestigious international piano prizes, and awarded only every four years.

His upcoming recital held in November 2024 at Suntory Hall, Tokyo will surely be a multifaceted showcase of his current artistry.
Indeed, the program featuring J.S. Bach, Brahms, Liszt, Rachmaninov and Bartok is a fine choice of the repertoires the pianist has performed for his live concerts and recordings in recent years.
