The renowned orchestra from Poland, Frédéric Chopin’s beloved homeland, Sinfonia Varsovia will visit Japan next month for their special concert tour.

The orchestra will give concerts under the baton of the Viennese conductor Christian Arming, well acquainted with the Japanese classical music scene as the current Music Director of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra and a former Music Director of the New Japan Philharmonic.

The orchestra’s Japanese tour will be held in October with the programs including Chopin’s masterworks, during the same time as the 19th edition of Warsaw’s famous Chopin International Piano Competition.

On this special occasion, Sinfonia Varsovia conducted by Arming will co-star with the world’s foremost pianists who are well-versed in Chopin’s music and have a close connection with the history of the Chopin Competition respectively: Martha Argerich, Ivo Pogorelich and Aimi Kobayashi.
