German Baritone singer, Matthias Goerne, was awarded “the Wigmore Medal” by London’s Wigmore Hall. This award was newly created, starting this year, in order to praise the major international artists and significant figures in the classical music world. Matthias Goerne made his UK debut in this hall and also greatly contributed to it. He received the award on the stage of Wigmore Hall on February 22, 2007.

Such a notable lieder exponent, Goerne will visit Japan to perform Schubert’s great song cycles at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall in September, 2007.! Details are as follows;
