One of the leading conductors in Japan, Naoto Otomo, will conduct “JUNIOR BUTTERFLY” composed by Shigeaki Saegusa, for the 52th Puccini Festival held in Italy this summer. This opera gave the world premire in 2004 (Tokyo) and will be performed for the first time in Europe in the festival. The story is about Cio Cio San's son from “Madam Butterfly” with the background of the terrible war and the tragedy of the nuclear bomb. At this opera festival, it will be the first trial that works other than Puccini's work are performed, therefore, this new opera, JUNIOR BUTTERFLY, gathers great attention.
