First prize-winner of the 7th Rostropovich Cello Competition, Tatjana once
again held audiences spellbound at the Salle Pleyel, Paris and the
Philharmonie, Luxembourg, in November 2006 with sensational performances of
Shostakovich's Concerto No. 1, with Orchestre de Paris under the baton of
Rostropovich. These have probably been the last concerts ever conducted by
Rostropovich with a soloist. And in May 24th, Tatjana was invited by the Orchestre de Paris to perform again this same concerto in a special evening
dedicated to the memory of the late maestro.
“…the young Russian offers an extremely nuanced interpretation, bringing
out the lyricism of the writing to the greatest possible extent and
deploying a technique beyond all suspicion…”

Her recently released CD of works for solo cello (Kodaly, Ysaye, Tcherepnine
and Cassado) has provoked equal levels of excitement and imposes her as an
artist whose instinctive musical intelligence, breathtaking virtuosity and
captivating personality demand attention.
“The bow strokes are by turn energetic and caressing, the sonority rich and
the style perfectly adapted to each composer and each work…one feels the
impact of a strong personality with musical ideas firmly in place and the
means to communicate them”
